Windrose Plots and Air Direction

You will see four graphs from the Middle Ga Regional Airport in Macon, GA. Each graph depicts each season in 1992. There is also a 1992 Windrose superimposed onto an image of the airport. I used the overall Windrose from that year for an average. I wanted the other Windrose plots to be large and clear, so I have each separate.

Sun Lab Results 02/12/14

The sun lab required setting up a table. To set up this table, I had to go outside and take measurements with a pole of a known length.  Then, I took the measurements of the shadow and used a compass to find the direction of the sun. After calculating the Tangent of the measurements, I had the numbers necessary to fill out the radial chart. Included in this post are my supporting documents.

The Importance of Drainage: A Reflection from the 1/14/14 Lab

After calculating the volume rainfall during a 2 inch rain storm, it is very eye opening to consider how much water falls on the parking lot of the Willett Science Center parking lot. If the there was no draining system, all of that water would be stagnant. Without a place to go, this could cause serious problems. For example, with no drainage. we would be walking around in water up to our knees. The drainage system allows the water to go back into the environment after falling onto a non-porous surface. Ultimately, considering how much of the industrial environment is covered with non-porous surfaces, having drainage is necessary to insure that the water is released back into the natural environment.

Robert F. Kennedy, JR: "Defender of the Environment"

Robert F. Kennedy, JR.
RFK, JR has done a great deal for the environment. He is the legal council for the Hudson Riverkeeper. He is also President of the Riverkeeper Alliance. When not defending the environment directly, he is teaching at Pace University. He has helped all over North and South America and has also helped sever local groups of people fight Environmental dangers. Perhaps one of his landmark achievements was the NYC Watershed Agreement. He negotiated this model agreement on behalf of environmentalists and consumers in NYC. He has published many books and is a graduate of Harvard, the London School of Economics, and Virginia Law. As the above suggests, he is a true "Defender of the Environment."
